The Ireland Canada University Foundation has announced the 2010/2011 program of Irish language exchange scholarships between Canada and Ireland.
With funding from the National Lottery and the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, the Foundation provides a number of scholarly awards designed to support the teaching of the Irish language in certain Canadian universities.
As part of the agreement students from the following six Canadian universities who apply successfully will receive funding for participation in an approved Irish language summer 2010 course in a Gaeltacht environment: University of St. Michael's College and University of Toronto, Ontario; Concordia University, Montreal; St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia; St. Mary's University, Halifax, Nova Scotia; St. Thomas University, Fredericton, New Brunswick; and Memorial University, St. John's, Newfoundland.
